- The Grupo Argos Foundation is one of the founding partners of Promotora Cultural, helping make high-impact projects possible in Medellín and in municipalities throughout the department.
As part of its commitment to the sustainable development of Antioquia and to strengthening the department’s social fabric, the Grupo Argos Foundation donated COP 2 billion to support the consolidation of Promotora Cultural, an organization that has helped advance projects aimed at strengthening the region’s cultural ecosystem and expanding access to art and culture across different municipalities in the department.
“Culture is a powerful vehicle for building a sense of identity, strengthening communities, and reinforcing the social fabric. Through our support for the creation and consolidation of Promotora Cultural, our goal has been to focus and channel efforts across the sector to achieve greater impact, demonstrating that when companies, foundations, cultural organizations, and institutions work together, these efforts can become platforms for collective transformation.”
María Camila Villegas
Executive Director, Grupo Argos Foundation
Promotora Cultural has established itself as a key vehicle for strengthening the territory’s cultural ecosystem. Its work focuses on three areas: (i) the promotion of art and culture, (ii) knowledge management, and (iii) sector development, through initiatives designed to build capabilities, expand opportunities, and contribute to the medium- and long-term sustainability of cultural organizations.
In 2025, the organization worked with 280 cultural organizations across Antioquia, was present in all nine subregions of the department, contributed to the creation of 1,632 jobs, engaged 256,000 people, and advanced the profiling of 8,792 cultural stakeholders. These results demonstrate the reach of a platform that connects the cultural sector with partners, resources, and capabilities to expand its impact across the territory.
The support for Promotora Cultural is part of the Grupo Argos Foundation’s broader commitment to supporting social, community, and cultural processes that build local capabilities and foster new forms of connection across communities. Through its work with cultural and social organizations, as well as programs such as Tras los Puentes, the Foundation has helped collectives, artists, cultural managers, and communities find new opportunities to grow, collaborate, and bring forward initiatives that create a positive impact in their surroundings.
With this same purpose, the Grupo Argos Foundation has supported cultural organizations and initiatives such as Filarmed, the Medellín Symphony Orchestra, Sirenaica, Batuta, the Teatro Metropolitano, and nearly 50 social and cultural organizations across the country, contributing to strengthening their management capabilities, expanding their reach, and connecting them with new audiences.
