Ciudad Mallorquín receives recognition at the 2026 LADI Awards as one of Latin America’s best master plans

21 May 2026
  • Ciudad Mallorquín, an urban development by Grupo Argos, was recognized in the master plan category of the 2026 LADI Awards, a regional platform that highlights the most relevant and innovative real estate developments in Latin America.
  • In its initial stages, the project includes nearly 16,000 housing units, approximately 90% of which correspond to social housing, under a compact and planned city model.
  • More than 36% of the project’s area is allocated to public space and green infrastructure, including parks, bike lanes, urban furniture, and interconnected areas that promote quality of life, biodiversity, and sustainability.
  • The construction of Ciudad Mallorquín has generated more than 9,500 jobs per year and has contributed to the economic and fiscal strengthening of Puerto Colombia.

Ciudad Mallorquín, Grupo Argos’ urban development located between Barranquilla and Puerto Colombia, was recognized during the 2026 Latin American Meeting of Real Estate Developers (ELDI), held in Panama City, as one of the best master plans in Latin America.

This recognition highlights the project’s urban vision, where more than 4,500 families already live, as a model of a planned, inclusive, and sustainable city that integrates housing, public space, green infrastructure, mobility, and services under a compact, long-term development approach.

In its initial stages, the master plan includes the construction of nearly 16,000 housing units under a compact city model that brings residents closer to services, employment, retail, facilities, green areas, and sustainable mobility alternatives.

“This recognition validates a vision of the city in which housing, public space, sustainability, and infrastructure are planned in an integrated manner to generate better quality of life and long-term territorial development.”

Daniel Sarabia Mancini
Urban Planning Manager of Grupo Argos’ Urban Development Business

This recognition adds to Ciudad Mallorquín’s LEED for Cities and Communities precertification, granted by the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the first urban project in the Colombian Caribbean to receive this distinction for its standards in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, mobility, urban planning, and quality of life.

The LADI Awards, which in 2026 celebrate their 12th edition, are presented within the framework of ELDI, which brings together developers and real estate professionals from Latin America to recognize outstanding projects in sustainability and urban development. In previous editions, more than 450 projects have been part of this regional recognition platform.
