  • The initiatives, managed by Grupo Argos, Cementos Argos, Celsia, Grupo Bios, Fiduciaria Bancolombia, Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional, Arquitectura & Concreto, and Microplast, benefit more than 23,000 people living in rural areas of Dabeiba and Ituango by improving connectivity and access to education.
  • The projects represent an investment of more than COP 30 billion in road and educational infrastructure, formal employment for more than 300 people, the strengthening of the social fabric, and the revitalization of local economies.
  • They include the improvement of the Dabeiba–Camparrusia road, the construction of the Las Cruces bridge on the same road, and the upgrade of La Pérez Educational Institution in Ituango.

Grupo Empresarial Argos, in coordination with other private-sector companies and public entities, announced that three strategic projects executed under the Works for Taxes mechanism in Antioquia have reached 90% progress, consolidating their impact on the social and economic development of prioritized territories in Antioquia.

These initiatives include the improvement of road infrastructure in the municipality of Dabeiba and the construction and upgrading of educational infrastructure in Ituango, projects that together are transforming the living conditions of more than 23,000 people.

One of the most representative projects is the improvement of the Dabeiba–Camparrusia road, which includes the intervention of more than eight kilometers of tertiary road, the construction of nearly 60 cross-drainage works, and the implementation of rigid pavement, drainage, and road signage. In 2025, four kilometers corresponding to section 2 were delivered, and work is currently advancing on the paving of the remaining four kilometers of section 1. To date, 4.1 km of paving have been completed, and construction work is underway on complementary drainage structures and signage, generating 300 direct and indirect jobs.

Meanwhile, the construction and improvement project for La Pérez Educational Institution in Ituango is advancing in the consolidation of modern and safe infrastructure that will directly benefit more than 600 students. The works include the upgrading of classrooms, learning spaces, administrative areas, sanitary facilities, and recreational areas.

The third project, which has reached the same level of progress, is the Las Cruces vehicular bridge, being built over the stream of the same name on the Dabeiba–Camparrusia road. This structure will be 22 linear meters long and represents an investment of more than COP 5.5 billion.

“The progress of these works reflects how coordination between the private sector and the State makes it possible to execute projects with high standards of quality, efficiency, and transparency, generating real impact in the territories that need it most,” said Carlos Mario Gómez, Technical Advisory Director at Cementos Argos.

“The possibilities offered by the Works for Taxes mechanism to bring development to rural and urban communities through road and educational infrastructure projects are still enormous. As a business group, and together with a very important group of partners, we are working to develop them and deepen opportunities for thousands of families throughout Colombia.”
