The National University of Colombia and the Grupo Empresarial Argos launch the third cohort of the Sustainability Chair for more than 10,000 undergraduate students in Colombia.
6 September 2023- The Chair aims to provide students with an academic space where they can firsthand learn about sustainability tools, projects, and initiatives applied to the construction materials, energy, and road and airport concessions industries within an organization present in 20 countries and territories in the Americas.
- In the first two virtual cohorts of the Chair, over 45 students and 20 teachers participated, all of whom are collaborators of Grupo Argos, Cementos Argos, Celsia, Odinsa, and Summa, the shared services center of the Grupo Empresarial Argos.
- The Sustainability Chair is part of the Framework Agreement signed between the University and the company to promote the development of solutions that contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change. It also involves the structuring and implementation of projects that address the challenges faced by the businesses of the Grupo Empresarial Argos.
Between Thursday, July 27, and Friday, July 28, more than 10,000 students from the National University of Colombia will have the opportunity to enroll in the Sustainability Chair offered jointly by the University and the Grupo Empresarial Argos. The objective of this initiative is to provide students with tools and practical cases to illustrate the theoretical application of sustainability in the infrastructure industry, drawing from the experiences of 20 collaborators from Grupo Argos, Cementos Argos, Celsia, Odinsa, and Summa, who participate as instructors in this initiative.
This marks the third edition of the Sustainability Chair and could bring in at least 100 new students, in addition to the more than 45 individuals who have already had the opportunity to access the content developed by the collaborators of the Grupo Empresarial Argos.
About the Framework Agreement between the National University of Colombia and Grupo Argos:
This strategy, initiated in 2022 with a five-year duration, includes the development of the Sustainability Chair, as well as the funding and implementation of projects for the capture and use of CO2, the promotion of unconventional renewable energies, and the financial viability of initiatives associated with new technological developments. Likewise, the alliance is facilitating connections for job opportunities and internships for University graduates within the various companies of the Grupo Empresarial Argos.
