About the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) is determined by the market capitalization of companies and weighs the performance of selected companies using environmental, social, governance, and economic (ESG) criteria, based on the results of the S&P corporate sustainability assessment and the corresponding industry classification.
In turn, this Index can be global, regional, or by country, and for each of these universes, composition criteria are defined according to the results in the ratings of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment. This family of indices has become a benchmark for markets and investors globally. In this edition, more than 13,000 companies were invited to participate, of which only 3,500 were selected as members of the DJSI World.
The Corporate Sustainability Assessment evaluates companies from 61 industries and 27 countries based on sustainability criteria, awarding a distinction to those that perform outstanding and comprehensive management of their businesses.
The recognition in the results of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment of the companies of Grupo Empresarial Argos and the consequent inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices represents significant benefits such as strengthening the confidence of their stakeholders, as well as establishing themselves as an important tool for reporting, measuring, and updating trends, given the rigor of the process and the opportunity for connection with investors.
These results allow investors to evaluate the quality of management and the potential for future performance of the companies, as well as to identify investment opportunities that generate sustainable value in the long term.
