12 December 2018Sustainability | DECEMBER 12, 2018
Fundación Grupo Argos, of which Argos, Celsia and Odinsa are part, as subsidiaries of the Argos Business Group, is in the delivery of 50 new scholarships in the departments of Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Bolívar, Boyacá, Cundinamarca and Sucre. The foundation is convinced that education is the fundamental pillar for the development of the regions, of generating multiple opportunities and of providing fundamental tools for the progress of the communities.
The scholarship program of Grupo Argos, Argos, Celsia and Odinsa aims to realize the dreams of the young leaders of the areas of influence of these companies and provide more and better opportunities for growth for themselves, their families and their communities, and for thus, it helps to impulse regional development.
“This is the fifth cohort of fellows, from a program that was born in Cementos Argos and that adopted the Grupo Argos Foundation as a great initiative because we are convinced that education gives each human the knowledge, skills, attitudes and the values necessary to forge a sustainable future and that is why, by contributing to education, we are building a better society ”, said Ana Mercedes Villegas, director of Fundación Grupo Argos.
In total, 50 scholarships will be delivered this year and in the five years that the program has been, 199 have been assigned to young people from different departments of the country.
The retention rate is 94%, which is much higher than other programs of access to higher education. The rigorous accompaniment model has been very successful in terms of permanence, as a company collaborator, a previous cohort fellow and a pedagogical advisor, confirms the triad of mentoring that each new member of the program receives.
