The Grupo Argos Foundation will deliver 5,000 drinking water filters to contribute to water security in rural areas of 14 departments of Colombia

  • The delivery of the filters will take place during the second half of the year to benefit more than 23,000 people.

  • This project is carried out in coordination with the businesses of Grupo Empresarial Argos and also includes workshops on the conservation and use of water, the efficient management of filters and good health and hygiene practices.

During the second half of 2022, the Grupo Argos Foundation, in coordination with Cementos Argos, Celsia and Odinsa, will deliver 5,000 filters for access to safe water that will benefit more than 23,500 people in rural areas of Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Boyacá, Córdoba , Cundinamarca, La Guajira, Meta, Risaralda, Santander, Sucre, Valle del Cauca and Tolima.

The Grupo Argos Foundation, through its AquaVida program, seeks to contribute to the water security of the most vulnerable territories in Colombia and contribute to improving the quality of life of rural communities by allowing them access to this vital resource. This project also includes workshops on the conservation and use of water, the efficient management of filters and good health and hygiene practices.

Delivery schedule
The delivery of the filters in rural areas began in May in Valle del Cauca, La Guajira and Tolima, where Celsia provides the energy generation and marketing service. During July, deliveries will take place in the department of Meta, where Odinsa, the Grupo Argos road and airport concessions company, is carrying out the works on the Meta Road Network. In the following months, deliveries will be made to the other departments.

About filters
The filters delivered to the families are made of clay and do not require power sources, additional construction, chemical additives or pump connections. They have a compact, easy-to-use design that allows you to purify the water before consumption, avoiding damage to your health by viruses and bacteria.
