- With a consolidated investment exceeding COP 3.6 billion, Grupo Argos, through its Urban Development Business, is preparing to deliver two new parks for the enjoyment of the thousands of residents in the neighborhoods of Villa Carolina and Altos de Riomar in Barranquilla.
- The Alejandría Park, located in the Altos de Riomar sector, will offer a 5,330 m2 space equipped with a 3×3 basketball court, a children’s skating rink, a calisthenics circuit, playground areas, among other options for sports and entertainment. As of now, this project has achieved an 80% completion rate.
- On the other hand, the upcoming “Karla González” Park, situated in the Villa Carolina neighborhood and spanning an area of 10,000 square meters, aims to enhance sports activities by featuring three tennis courts. It also includes spaces for collective activities, such as a central multipurpose promenade and a community hall. This park is currently 70% complete in its construction.
With the aim of further consolidating a network of parks in Barranquilla that contributes to the well-being of the city’s residents, Grupo Argos, through its Urban Development Business, is progressing with the construction of two new parks located in the northern part of the city, representing 15,000 square meters of new public space.
The Alejandría Park, situated in the Altos de Riomar sector, covers an area of over 5,300 square meters of new public space dedicated to enhancing sports and recreational offerings. It features a basketball court, playful zones, and an innovative children’s play area incorporating textures, mesh structures, and geometric shapes. Likewise, in response to the community’s needs and expectations, the park will include a calisthenics circuit, a children’s skating rink, and ecological pathways with urban spaces for observing the local vegetation and fauna.
On the other hand, the “Karla González” Park, named by the community in honor of a leader from the Villa Carolina neighborhood, will span over 10,000 square meters and will be focused on meeting the growing demand for tennis facilities in the city. It will provide three new tennis courts, a communal hall, and a central promenade where various activities such as group classes and entrepreneurship fairs will take place.
Grupo Argos’ investment in the construction of both parks amounts to over COP 3.6 billion.
“These two new parks join our network of high-quality public spaces, which continues to expand, where nature and human intervention converge in a healthy balance. Each space is an expression of our commitment to preserving natural beauty while providing places for recreation and gathering. We hope that these two new parks enrich the lives of all citizens and become settings for unforgettable gatherings.”
