La Vía al Lago connects Calle 96 with Avenida Circunvalar, in the northern area of Barranquilla.
It is a double road project in which Grupo Argos has invested more than 16,000 million pesos.
The new Carrera 65 – Vía al Lago will open for all vehicles in July. The project, which is being developed between Grupo Argos and the Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla, reports a consolidated progress of more than 95% and its commissioning will improve traffic in the northern part of the city.
It will be a double-lane road with wide and safe platforms, a double-direction bike path, LED lighting and arborization with species such as San Joaquin and Acacias, in line with the Forestry Manual that Grupo Argos developed for the city.
The organization has invested more than 16,000 million pesos in the new highway, which is located in one of the areas with the greatest urban development potential in the city. The Argos Group decided to advance the construction, before the defined times for the urban development of the area, with the purpose of improving vehicular connectivity in the sector.
“The new Carrera 65 – Vía al Lago is an example of Grupo Argos’s commitment to the sustainable urban development of Barranquilla, a very important city in our 85 years of history. Through this road infrastructure project we provide a solution to the current mobility challenges”, said Camilo Abello, Senior Director of Sustainability at Grupo Argos.

Length: 1.8 kilometers in double carriageway.
7 meter roads.
3.5 meter lanes per carriageway
5.5 meter platforms and 5 meter central separator
Two roundabouts of large dimensions to regulate vehicle flows
A bi-directional bike path 2.20 m wide
LED lighting
Arborization in the separator and platforms with San Joaquín and Acacias, that will be planted in alliance with Barranquilla Siembra
