- Thanks to the efforts made by Grupo Argos, its businesses and its Foundation, to date it has been possible to restore 6,500 hectares of forest and 50 hectares of mangroves.
As part of its commitment to contribute to the restoration of strategic ecosystems in the country, in the last seven years Grupo Argos has voluntarily planted 13.8 million native trees and 430,000 mangrove seedlings in six departments of the country. This result was recognized today in the second edition of the Bóscares Colombia Awards, which highlights the best practices and business initiatives in the care of forests in the country.
This figure was possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Grupo Argos businesses, including Celsia’s ReverdeC project, which has led reforestation in Valle del Cauca and Tolima, and the Grupo Argos Foundation’ Sembrando Futuro program, a voluntary compensation program that has led restoration initiatives in Andean forest, tropical dry forest and mangrove ecosystems in the departments of Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Sucre, Tolima and Valle del Cauca.

“We proudly receive this recognition that reaffirms our commitment to contribute to the restoration of forests and align ourselves with the country’s climate change goals while generating social well-being and promoting the sustainable development of the territories. We will continue working hand in hand with the communities and allies with the goal of reaching 25 million trees”.
