Argos Business Group, committed to the reopening of the Caribbean Museum

Argos Business Group (Grupo Argos and its subsidiaries Argos, Celsia and Odinsa) showed their commitment to the cultural promotion and transformation of Barranquilla, by supporting the reopening of the Caribbean Museum in the capital of the Atlantic. This support will allow the city to, once again, have a space that works as a showcase for the natural and cultural heritage of the Colombian Caribbean.

Argos Business Group supports the museum since 2008, before its inauguration and, this year, has made a contribution of COP 360 million pesos for the adaptation of the different rooms open to the public.

The companies of Argos Business Group sponsor two key spaces of the Museum. La Sala de la Gente refers to the villages of the region, where they came from, how they relate to space, what mixtures they have produced and the sacred places of the indigenous peoples that still stay in the territory. The Gabriel García Márquez room is a space that allows an approach to the life and literary work of the Colombian Nobel Prize.

Once again, Argos Business Group encourages the transformation of Barranquilla; on this occasion, with the donation of the necessary resources for the reopening of the Caribbean Museum” says Camilo Abello, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Grupo Argos.
 
This museum is the country's first regional and main component of the Caribbean Cultural Park, a complex that promotes and disseminates knowledge of this area. Today, in an event with the Governor of the Atlantic, the Mayor's Office of Barranquilla, the Chamber of Commerce of Barranquilla, delegates of Argos Business Group and other actors from the private sector, it was reopened to the public.
