The company has positioned itself among the top-performing global companies in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practices. This was reaffirmed by the most recent assessment conducted by S&P Global in July of this year, in which Grupo Argos achieved a score of 85 out of 100, consolidating its standing as a global sustainability benchmark among more than 3,500 companies worldwide.

In this edition, Grupo Argos delivered an outstanding performance in the social dimension, improving its score by 8 points compared to the previous year and reaching 89 out of 100, thanks to its management of topics such as labor practices, human rights, and human capital development.

The rating agency awarded a score of 83 for environmental management and 84 for the economic and corporate governance dimension, recognizing strong practices in resource management—including energy, water, and waste—alongside robust reporting, transparency, risk management, and supply chain oversight.

Among the most relevant initiatives of the Grupo Empresarial Argos in each dimension are:

  • Social dimension: Grupo Argos promotes a talent strategy focused on (i) professional development (more than 200 employees have received scholarships and sponsorships for graduate studies), (ii) diversity and inclusion as a driver of value (over 2,800 people have received training in diversity, equity, and inclusion), and (iii) integral well-being, with initiatives around quality of life, flexible work models, and benefits.
  • Environmental dimension: Efficiency is a cornerstone of the Group’s business operations, reflected in initiatives such as modular precast concrete panel systems, which reduce construction time by up to 40%, and a sustainable product portfolio that includes Green Cement, which cuts thermal energy consumption by 30% and CO₂ emissions by 38%. In addition, the Grupo Argos Foundation has developed an integrated intervention model focused on water protection, planting over 5.3 million native trees (including mangroves) to help restore more than 23 critical water sources essential for Colombia’s water and climate security.
  • Corporate governance and economic dimension: Grupo Argos recently completed the transaction to eliminate cross-shareholdings with Grupo Sura, delivering more than COP 10.8 trillion in Sura shares directly to its shareholders. This move not only simplified its corporate structure but also allowed the company to focus 100% on its core businesses in building materials and infrastructure.
