Grupo Argos, Cementos Argos, Celsia and Odinsa reaffirm their position among Colombia’s most sustainable organizations, according to Merco ESG

  • Grupo Argos’ companies were recognized in Merco’s 2026 ESG Responsibility ranking as leading corporate benchmarks for sustainability in Colombia.
  • In this year’s assessment, Grupo Argos and Cementos Argos ranked first in their respective sectors and climbed in the overall ranking to 6th and 12th place, respectively, further consolidating their leadership in the management of environmental, social, and corporate governance matters.
  • Celsia ranked third in its sector and 37th overall, while Odinsa placed fourth in the construction and infrastructure sector.
  • These results reaffirm Grupo Empresarial Argos’ commitment to ethical, transparent, long-term management aimed at generating economic value in balance with social well-being and environmental stewardship.

The companies of Grupo Empresarial Argos stood out in the latest edition of the Merco ESG Responsibility ranking, reaffirming their position among Colombia’s most sustainable companies thanks to their performance on environmental, social, ethics, and corporate governance matters. This year, Grupo Argos secured a place in the top 10 for the sixth consecutive year, ranking 6th, up three positions, while Cementos Argos placed 12th, climbing eight positions. Celsia ranked 37th overall, and Odinsa placed fourth in the construction and infrastructure sector.

In 2025, we made progress with tangible results: we invested more than COP 100 billion in environmental and social initiatives through our companies and the Grupo Argos Foundation, achieved a reduction in consolidated CO₂ emissions, and benefited more than 608,200 people through voluntary social investment programs.”

Outstanding performance across all dimensions:

  • Environmental: Grupo Argos ranked 5th, Cementos Argos 15th, and Celsia 18th.
  • Social: Grupo Argos ranked 8th, and Cementos Argos 15th.
  • Corporate Governance: Grupo Argos reached 3rd place, and Cementos Argos 12th.

This recognition adds to the recent inclusion of Grupo Empresarial Argos’ companies in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026, in which Cementos Argos was included in the Top 1% of the Construction Materials industry, Grupo Argos in the Top 5% of the Construction Materials industry, Celsia in the Top 10% of the Electric Utilities industry, and Odinsa was included as a Yearbook Member in the Construction industry.

The Merco ESG Responsibility ranking is built on more than 81,000 surveys that assess companies’ performance in social management, ethics, governance, and environmental matters. Some of the factors measured by this index include companies’ responsibility toward employees, commitment to the environment and climate change, transparency and good governance, and, in general, their contribution to communities across the country.
