The Túnel de Oriente is one of the main engineering works in Colombia and a relevant asset for Grupo Argos due to its ability to generate value for the inhabitants of Antioquia and boost the competitiveness of the region. Since its inauguration in 2019, the concession has mobilized more than 15 million vehicles, consolidating itself as one of the most relevant road corridors in the department.

This vehicle corridor is the longest excavated on the continent and includes 58 kilometers of roads that connect the Aburrá Valley and the San Nicolás Valley, achieving a 60% reduction in travel time. Since its inauguration, the concession has exceeded the initial vehicular traffic forecast and in December 2021 it closed with a daily average of 39,000 vehicles.

In 2021, the concession achieved the issuance of bonds in the Colombian capital market. Issuance amounted to COP 700,000 million, with an excess demand that reached COP 1.1 trillion. With this initiative, the Túnel de Oriente became the first concession to use this mechanism, opening an important door in the market to finance infrastructure projects.
