The Grupo Argos Foundation and the Siemens Foundation will bring clean water to six rural educational centers in eastern Antioquia.

  •  The union between both foundations is part of the Gran Alianza por el Agua announced by the Antioquia Government to bring drinking water to more than 500 educational centers in rural areas of the department.
  • The investment to be made by the Grupo Argos Foundation for the execution of this project reaches COP 80 million and will benefit 500 children in the municipalities of Sonsón, Puerto Triunfo, San Luis and San Francisco, while the Simens Foundation will contribute the hand of work and the technology necessary to install innovative, cost-efficient and fast solutions to guarantee access to clean water.
  • This project will generate innovative, cost-efficient and fast solutions to guarantee access to clean water in six rural educational centers in the Río Claro basin, in eastern Antioquia.

 

The Grupo Argos and Siemens Colombia foundations closed an alliance to bring safe water to six educational centers in rural areas of eastern Antioquia, which will benefit more than 500 children, and their families, in the municipalities of Sonsón, Puerto Triunfo, San Luis and San Francisco allowing them to access this vital resource.

According to the latest survey carried out by the Antioquia Government, of the 4,342 official educational institutions in rural areas of the department, 64% (2,246) do not have access to drinking water and 544 do not have access to water. Being the Antioquia East one of the areas most affected by this situation.

The agreement between both foundations is part of the Gran Alianza por el Agua announced by the Government last week that seeks to bring drinking water to these institutions.

The investment to be made by the Grupo Argos Foundation for the execution of this project reaches COP 80 million and, for its part, the Siemens Foundation will provide logistics for the installation of innovative, cost-efficient and fast solutions to guarantee access to drinking water.

Other initiatives

Since 2019, the Grupo Argos Foundation has been accompanying 20 educational centers in Río Claro´s basin through the “Verde Vivo” environmental awareness program through which the change in the perception of environmental reality has been promoted by 3,683 students and 153 teachers who actively participate in the program.
