Grupo Argos was linked for the third consecutive year in Medellin, through its Foundation, with the Green Race. This is an initiative from the Natura Foundation that seeks to mobilize society around the care of forests and water.
The race was held in Bogota in February. 6,000 people took part in the race which represented planting 18,000 native species trees. Last Sunday, 2,500 Medellin runners said yes to the reforestation and water conservation, thanks to their will 8,800 trees will be planted in cities such as Medellin, Bello and the town of El Retiro.
Initiatives like these, which are born out of society’s commitment and a joint effort on behalf of government and private companies, guarantee the future of the planet and contribute significantly to the ecological restoration of the country.
"For Grupo Argos, it is very valuable to be able to be part of the Green Race, which among others, fosters sports activities, has an environmental meaning and promotes everyone’s awareness and responsibility. Children and adults contribute in the conservation of forests and it is very gratifying to see how the number of participants in Medellin increases every year. This is becoming a space to enjoy with family and reflect on the importance of contributing to the protection of the environment, "said Ana Mercedes Villegas, Executive Director of the Grupo Argos Foundation.
